In this 3-day workshop we will explore 3 different methods of layering pieces of sterling silver sheet to create 3-dimensional constructions. Students will select 2 of these to make in the workshop and can start a 3^rd as time allows. We will develop a design for each selected method and assemble the 2- or 3-layer constructions using one of the following three methods:

Method #1 - soldering a rectangular wire frame between the layers of sheet. The frame acts as both a design element and a way to create space and dimension between the layers.

Method #2 – soldering spacers made from square wire between the layers that are either hidden between the layers or can extend out from between them to become part of a design or attach to other design elements such as stone settings.

Method #3 – Cold connecting - riveting the layers together using sterling silver crimp beads  to create distance between the layers - rivet heads can become design elements themselves.

Participants will have the choice of making 2 of these 3 layering options
